Studied at the Slade School of Fine Art with tutors David Hepher, Bruce McLean and Jock McFadyen.

Residencies include ACME’s Fire Station, the Derbyshire Vickers Art Award, School of Visual Arts, Illinois State University and the Bridge Project at the Scottish Sculpture Workshop.

Museum exhibitions include: Solo shows at Derby Museum & Art Gallery; Piece Hall Art Gallery, Halifax; Mappin Museum & Gallery Sheffield.

Group shows include the NatWest Painting Prize at the Lothbury Gallery, London; East International at the Norwich Gallery; Nottingham Castle Art Gallery; Walsall Art Gallery; Djanogly Gallery, University of Nottingham; and the Wapping Project, London.

Formerly course director of the Undergraduate Fine Art Programme at the University of Nottingham, higher education teaching includes various institutions in the UK and US.
